On the gas heating effect of helium atmospheric pressure plasma jet

Plasma medicine is an emerging research field which has been driven by the development of plasma sources suitable to generate low temperature plasmas. In many cases, such devices can operate without a gas flow, producing discharge from ambient air. However, most common case use working at given flow rate produce jet. Helium (He) one gases commonly used as carrier cold atmospheric pressure jets (CAPPJs) due mainly easiness ignite with it. in this work it was observed that heating He CAPPJ come just expansion gas. This found through measurements ($T_{gas}$), using fiber optic (FOT) sensors, and thermal output, both FOT infrared imaging impinging on copper (Cu) plate. Such findings were achieved comparisons $T_{gas}$ Cu ($T_{Cu}$) plate conditions ignition, well comparing free gas/jet mode ignition.
